Scorched #2 is published by Image Comics, written by Sean Lewis and illustrated by Stephen Segovia.

Print copies will be available from 9th February 2022 either directly from Image Comics or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

The Scorched have landed in Russia, and they are on the HUNT! What horrific experiments have taken place behind the façade of an old military base? And what have those experiments created?!?

    Review

When you see a comic series out of the Spawn multiverse you kind of get a good general idea what you’re going to get, mainly an action packed read with blood and gore by the bucket load and Scorched #2 is no different from that formula and that definitely is not a bad thing.

Issue #2 sees our super group of hellspawn arrive I Russia but they’re not here for the scenery, they’ve come for answers and they’re not going to ask nicely. In a story that could quite easily be on the big screen as a plot from an action movie The Scorched are attempting to infiltrate an old military base but what they find isn’t exactly what they were expecting. New enemies equals a new threat which means the Scorched need to up their game to eliminate the threat and get the answers they need.

This series has started in the way that only a Spawn multiverse title would, grabs you and takes you on a ride of your life that doesn’t slow down in pace throughout, each page is crammed with as much action as you could fit, being a Spawn fan it is great to see the different characters coming together forming the most badass squad ever.

Sean Lewis has expertly crafted a story that not only captures the Spawn feel he’s also injected a whole new lease of life into the iconic multiverse, as soon as it was announced I just knew that this setoes was going to be epic and I haven’t been disappointed yet.

The artistic style that Stephen Segovia has brought to the illustration side fits just right with what a Spawn fan would expect, plenty of blood and gore but it’s not over the top, in fact it actually adds more life to the story as a whole giving it alot more depth and feeling.

    Verdict

In just two issues this series has blown me away. I can’t wait to see more of the Scorched world. Another fantastic job by the whole creative team.
