Hot Toys have been pushing out some brand new figures today as part of their Summer Showcase 2020. Anakin Skywalker joined the epic lineup and what a figure it is.
Coming from the Star Wars: Clone Wars range, Anakin dons his armor from the hit animated show. While the head sculpt remains the same, looking much like Hayden Christensen’s, Hot Toys have captured his animated outfit brilliantly.

Some fans have expressed their disappointment towards the lack of an animated head sculpt. However, there is no denying that this new look for Anakin is pretty amazing. However, it would have been great to have seen their animated sculpts. Especially since the Into the Spider-Verse figures look very much like their animated selves. It is strange that the classic Clone Wars looks have been abandoned.
Having said that, the overall figure is outstanding. Anakin’s animated outfit has become a fan favourite so to see it on a Hot Toy figure is very special. Not only does it show how big the series has become, particularly with season 7, but it is a very interesting blend of live-action and animated. While it is not a blend that will sit well with everyone, we are intrigued to see what they do next. Maybe a Spider-Maul? no?
We are incredibly impressed by this figure. It certainly is a big change from the Revenge of the Sith look. But we are all for it. The question now is whether we will see Ahsoka in Hot Toy form to join Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Only time will tell.
