Black Panther has had an unbelievable run at the box office and it has only been ten days. In its second weekend at the global box office the film was able to rake in a further $191.8m bringing its global total to an estimated $704m.
In North America it became one of only four films to break the $100m mark in its second weekend. With an estimated $108m Black Panther now holds the title for the second best second weekend of all time. That $108m means the films domestic total is now an estimated $400m.
In only ten days it has become the fifth highest grossing title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in North America. It will surpass Captain America: Civil War ($408m) and Iron Man 3 ($409m) in the coming week.
Currently open in 55 markets Black Panther landed in Russian IMAX screens this week. It opens wider in Russia as of today. Japan opens this week with China to follow on March 9. Adding a further $83.8m this week in this 55 markets takes the international box office to $304m.
Globally it is now the tenth highest grossing movie in the Marvel franchise. The question remains: how high will it climb?

Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler from a screenplay co-written with Joe Robert Cole. Chadwick Boseman reprises his role as T’Challa/Black Panther and is joined in the film by Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Any Serkis and Forest Whitaker.
The Marvel Studios/Disney film landed in cinemas on February 12, 2018 in the UK and Feb 16 in the US.
