Studiocanal has revealed a first look at the teaser trailer and artwork for Ink, a heart-racing new drama depicting the rapid rise of The Sun newspaper under its owner Rupert Murdoch and editor Larry Lamb, and how it would come to change the face of news forever. The film will release in UK and Irish cinemas on January 8, 2027.
Directed by Academy and BAFTA award winning Danny Boyle (28 Years Later, Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire), INK stars BAFTA winner Jack O’Connell (Starred Up, 71, Back To Black, Sinners), Academy Award nominated Guy Pearce (Memento, The Brutalist, LA Confidential) and BAFTA nominated Claire Foy (The Crown, All of us Strangers, The Electrical life of Louis Wain).

The film releases in UK & Ireland cinemas on Friday 8 January 2027, and this evening will receive its world premiere screening at the Venice International Film Festival in competition in the Sala Grande at the Palazzo del Cinema (Lido di Venezia) on the opening night of the 83rdBiennale Cinema.
INK is an explosive cinematic rollercoaster about a group of visionaries and misfits who had an idea for a new kind of news – one that would give the people what they want and would change the face of the world we live in today. Danny Boyle directs INK which is based on the Tony-nominated play by multi-Olivier award-winning playwright and screenwriter James Graham (Dear England, Sherwood, Brexit),Graham has written the screenplay.
