Vertigo Releasing has announced that the eagerly awaited psychological horror Undertone will be releasing in UK cinemas on April 10, 2026. To celebrate the announcement a brand new trailer has been released online.
Written and directed by Ian Tuason in his feature debut, the film stars Nina Kiri (The Handmaid’s Tale), Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus), and Michèle Duquet (The Virgin Suicides). The film follows Evy (Kiri), a woman who hosts a popular paranormal podcast with her friend Justin (DiMarco) where she is the skeptic to his believer. After Evy moves back home to become the caregiver to her dying mother (Duquet), she and Justin are sent recordings by a married couple experiencing paranormal noises in their home, drawing Evy into fear and paranoia.

Undertone had its world premiere at last year’s Fantasia Fest to critical acclaim, before showing at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in their MIDNIGHT section. It will be released in ANZ on April 9th courtesy of Sunrise Films and Rialto Distribution and in the UK-IE on April 10th via Vertigo Releasing. A24 released the film in North America on 13th March, where it earned an estimated $9.3 million across opening weekend at the box office – a remarkable success for a debut film made on a $500,000 budget.
The film was produced by Dan Slater and Cody Calahan, with Tuason serving as an executive producer alongside Chad Archibald, Daril Fannin, Brit MacRae, Anthony Eu, Douglas Lee, Al Akdari, Charles Bern, Mathew Sterling, and David Sproat.
Undertone will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on April 10, 2026.
