Whilst Joker and Maleficent were battling it out for the top spot another film was making a serious dent in the box office in third place. Sony Pictures Zombieland: Double Tap (reviewed here) opened with an impressive $26.7m across the three-day weekend. After two weeks reigning at the top of the worldwide box office, Joker has been dethroned by Disney’s latest release, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. After what feels like a lifetime of talk, and of course the release of Shazam!, we now have a much better idea when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will suit up as Black Adam.
