There were plenty of new films which made their debut at the worldwide box office this weekend. Whilst Joker and Maleficent were battling it out for the top spot another film was making a serious dent in the box office in third place. Sony Pictures Zombieland: Double Tap (reviewed here) opened with an impressive $26.7m across the three-day weekend. The CW has released the first information on the upcoming fifth episode of Batwoman. The episode, entitled “Mine is a Long and a Sad Tale”, will see Kate (Ruby Rose) and her sister Alice/Beth (Rachel Skarsten) sit down for a heart-to-heart. After two weeks reigning at the top of the worldwide box office, Joker has been dethroned by Disney’s latest release, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. It was only a couple of days ago that we confirmed Spider-Man villain Shriek had been added to the script for Sony Pictures’ upcoming Venom 2. Now we have some casting news for the character. After what feels like a lifetime of talk, and of course the release of Shazam!, we now have a much better idea when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will suit up as Black Adam.
