Hot on the heels on the incredibly successful Star Trek Universe panel at SDCC and the Star Trek Las Vegas convention it’s been announced that a lineup of Trek stars will be appearing at New York Comic Con in October. In a similar setup to the SDCC extravaganza Deadline has learned that Trek will take over the Hulu Theatre in Madison Square Garden for a panel from 1pm running through to 2:30pm on Saturday, October 5. During the SDCC and D23 conventions Marvel proudly showed off its upcoming What If…? series which joins the Disney+ streaming service. The series is said to feature 23 episodes each with ties to the current MCU universe but twisting their stories. Now Twitter user Cosmic (via CBM) has shared some leaked preview images from the series. TVLine has released its latest preview for the upcoming TV season which begins in the next few weeks. As part of their preview the site has shown off new images from both Arrow and The Flash. As you can see from the photos below the new images show off updated costumes for a number of our DCTV favourites. Barry Allen is wearing a New 52 era inspired Flash costume which features more gold accents and lightning bolt trim. He’s edging even closer to that comic book shade of red too. New York Comic Con is coming up next month and organisers have begun to announce panels which will be taking place across the weekend. One of those panels will be a celebration of 20 years of Batman Beyond. The convention takes place only a couple of weeks before the release of the new Blu-ray™ set which features the stunningly remastered series in HD. The Batman Who Laughs took Scott Snyder even further down the dark path of The Dark Knight. Following on from Dark Knight’s Metal the series took a deep dive on the Batman of an alternative universe and was a truly chilling series to read. Now DC Comics has collected all seven issues together in a new collected edition which hit book stores this week. Remember back in March 2018 when Tomb Raider returned to cinemas starring Alicia Vikander? That film went on to gross $275m worldwide and now we finally have news on a sequel! Yesterday it was announced that a second film, which we’ll call Tomb Raider 2 for now, will be hitting cinemas on March 21, 2021. That’s a solid three year gap between releases. That teaser is set to play ahead of IT: Chapter Two and looks likely not to be released online as the full trailer will be arriving in a matter of weeks with Joker. Despite the casting announcement being quasi-confirmed some months ago we’ve heard nothing from Robert Pattinson about taking on the role of Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Now, in a new interview with Variety, Pattinson has finally broken that silence and briefly discussed the process in getting the role. HBO has finally announced when we’ll be able to see the highly anticipated new Watchmen TV series. After months of speculation and several short teasers and trailers we now know the series will debut in North America on October 20, 2019. Watchmen is based upon the seminal comic book series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. But series creator Damon Lindelof has warned fans of the source material that Watchmen will not rehash the comic book like-for-like.
