Warner Bros. Animation – via IGN – has just released this first trailer for the upcoming Superman: Red Son animated film. Due for release in 2020 the film adapts the comic book of the same name from from writer Mark Millar and artists Dave Johnson and Kilian Plunkett. Watch as the Elseworlds tale unravels when Kal-El’s shuttle lands in Russia rather than the US and Superman grows up in a very different world inhabited by some very familiar faces. Disney and Lucasfilm recently introduced a bunch of characters from the Star Wars universe in to the hugely successful online game Fortnite. Alongside the characters came an exclusive clip for the film which has now surfaced online. It’s no secret that 2017’s Power Rangers (read our 6.5/10 review here) didn’t set the box office alight. Produced on a budget of around $100m, the film grossed a disappointing $142m at the worldwide box office and, sadly, a sequel never moved forwards. In the years following that film the franchise has moved homes from Saban, original creators of the American franchise, to toy company Hasbro.
