Our first look at the new Star Trek series is finally here! Overnight CBS All Access with partners Netflix unveiled the first trailer for Star Trek: Discovery as well as releasing a teaser poster. TV network ABC has announced its programming schedule for the 2017/18 season setting the launch date for Inhumans. The show will take a Friday night timeslot running from 9pm. Notably missing from the launch lineup was the recently renewed Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which we now understand will be returning at mid season after Inhumans completes its run. Today US TV network FOX announced it’s lineup for the 2017/18 season. Aside from shifting Gotham to Thursdays at 8pm the biggest announcement was that new Marvel show The Gifted would be joining the network on Monday nights. Good news for fans of the various DC Comics TV series this morning. First up is an update on the Black Lightning project. Originally housed at FOX the series moved to The CW earlier this year when positive buzz started to build. We’ve now heard via the network that Black Lightning has been picked up for a full series. No news yet on an episode order but this is great news for the expansion of the Arrow-verse. ‘Power Rangers’ finally comes to China this weekend. After topping out at $84.7m in the US the films global total currently sits at $135.4m. It’s not the result that studio Lionsgate were hoping for but it’s by no means a disaster. With China releasing this week and Japan dropping on July 15 there’s a hope that the franchise homeland might be its saviour. EW has broken the news of the new series entitled Judge Dredd: Mega-City One today and brought us a first look poster.
