Last night fans at San Diego Comic Con were treated to a screening of the first episode of ‘The Defenders’. Marvel and Netflix master plan to bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist has been met with positive reaction. Whilst last years all female reboot didn’t quite set the franchise alight it seems all is not lost for Ghostbusters. Screenrant is reporting that original series director Ivan Reitman touched on the subject of a new film during an SDCC panel. Interesting comics news from SDCC today as Batman writer Tom King met with select member of the press to discuss what’s next for The Dark Knight. The series is currently in the middle of “The War of Jokes and Riddles” flashback story. Prior to that we were left on a cliffhanger with Bruce’s proposal of marriage to Selina. That story will be picked up in Batman #33 due later this year. The issue will begin a new arc for Batman entitled “A Dream of Me” which will feature art by Joelle Jones. Suicide Squad director David Ayer is at Comic Con this weekend to promote his new Netflix movie Bright. Whilst doing the rounds of press there has naturally been questions about his first entry in the DCEU but also his next one… Gotham City Sirens. Last night the cast and crew of hit FX series Legion descended on SDCC for a panel hyping up the shows second season. All the principal cast members including Dan Stevens, Aubrey Plaza, Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Bill Irwin, Jeremie Harris, and Amber Midthunde were in attendance. It’s fair to say that Inhumans has polarised fans of the genre. From casting choices, to costumes and even the first trailer. With SDCC slowly cranking up to high gear a new trailer for the series has premiered which may give some a little (very little) more hope. Earlier this year we got a look at the leaked trailer for Krypton. Though the trailer was barely online for a day it still made quite a mark on comic fandom.
