After a hugely successful weekend at the box office Star Wars: The Last Jedi is heading for a milestone. After grossing $450M over the weekend the film took an estimated $22.2M internationally on Monday and $21.5M in North America. That added $43.7M means the film now sits at approx $494M worldwide by close of play Monday. Undoubtedly the film crossed $500M yesterday and we should get confirmation of that later today. We’ve been waiting patiently for more news on the upcoming Krypton series at Syfy. First announced over a year ago we first saw leaked footage and promo art back in the summer. The series was on the agenda for convention season but again only small snippets of info were released. The Hollywood Reporter recently published an interesting article on expansion plans for Pinewood Studios in Toronto, Canada. The studio has recently found itself bursting at the scenes following Star Trek: Discovery setting up shop on its various soundstages. Currently the studio plans to expand to 700,000 square feet over the next few years. But buried deep within the article was an interesting tidbit of information for DC fans. Claiming the record for the second largest opening weekend ever in North America the film made $220M in its home territory. After months of teasing the return of Arsenal to ‘Arrow’ has been confirmed! The first three minutes of Justice League are now officially online for you to watch. Believe it or not the film is gearing up for a digital HD release in Korea on December 19th. With that in mind retailers in the country are beginning to promote the release and one has released a full 1080p clip of the films opening scenes. Over the weekend Comic Con Experience 2017 took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Warner Bros. were there to show off their upcoming slate of films including those under the DC Films banner. The internet has made headliner of the titles missing from the presentation which include Nightwing, Harley & Joker, Cyborg, Deathstroke, Gotham City Sirens and a Justice League 2.
