Ahead of tonights season 1 finale Marvel’s Runaways has officially been renewed for a 13-episode second season. The news was released via a statement on Marvel.com. “We’re thrilled about Runaways Season 2. We don’t yet have confirmation as to when Justice League will hit home video. Listings on iTunes point to a late January digital release for the film whilst Amazon listings point to a March release for the physical discs. Until Warner Bros. choose to formally announce the release we’re left guessing as to what that might entail. Now a listing on Amazon Germany, picked up by Batman-News & CBR, points to a potentially limited edition release of the film with a runtime of 135mins. Great news for fans of Marvel/FOX drama The Gifted. Yesterday is was announced that the series has been renewed for a second season. According to SuperHeroHype the drama ranks as the No. 3 new drama of the 2017-2018 season, The Gifted is averaging a 2.0/7 in Live + 7 ratings and has built upon FOX’s year-ago time period by +18%.The Gifted averages 8.3 Million Total Viewers across platforms, representing a +146% lift from its Live + Same Day delivery. Sorry Game of Thrones fans but HBO has confirmed our worst fears. The final season of humanities favourite TV series won’t premiere until sometime in 2019. Sophie Turner had mentioned in a recent interview that the series was unlikely to premiere in 2018 but now we have official confirmation from the production team. Back at the end of 2017 we heard that a shakeup was coming at DC Films. Today (via Variety) we have confirmation of the rumours. John Berg and Geoff Johns are out as Co-Presidents and will be replaced by New Line Cinema’s Walter Hamada. Back in December Berg was left his role as President to work alongside Roy Lee who produced IT and The LEGO Movie. Deadline is reporting that Star Wars: The Last Jedi has cracked the top 20 highest grossing movies of all time list. Taking in to account its gross on Tuesday the film is reportedly now at $1,090.8M (just under $1.1B) worldwide. That gross is made up of $539.3M from North America where the film has now overtaken Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Internationally the film has made $551.4M following another hugely successful weekend around the globe. We’re still a way off seeing Wonder Woman 2 hit cinemas. In fact we’re a way off seeing the film even go in to production. With a release date set for November 2019 Patty Jenkins and co. are presumably deep in the pre-production process on the film as we speak. After an announcement which rocked the comics world last year writer Brian Bendis has officially taken up residence at DC Comics. At the time it was announced that Bendis had signed a “multifaceted, multilayered” deal with the home of the Justice League. Still no word on which DC titles Bendis will be working on. Last night The X-Files returned for season 11 in North America. The show, which continues on Channel 5 here in the UK, is facing an uncertain future following comments from lead actress Gillian Anderson.
