Shock news from the world of DC Entertainment today. Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has announced that he will be stepping down from his role. This comes in the wake of the announcement that Diane Nelson will be stepping away from the company after over 20 years. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom doesn’t open in the US for another couple of weeks yet. But in the meantime the film is out now in 48 other territories around the globe. With a review score sitting in the low 60s on Rotten Tomatoes many expected diminished returns compared to the last movie in the franchise. Some box office analysts doubted that Avengers: Infinity War would be able to reach the $2 billion target at the box office. We’re very happy to say that us fans have proven them wrong. The film currently sits at $1.99 billion worldwide. That comes from $654.7m from North America and $1.3 billion from the rest of the world. Take this one with a pinch of salt. A new rumour from Variety suggests that OG DC Films Joker, Jared Leto, is getting his own solo movie. According to the report Leto, who first appeared as the Joker in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad in 2016, is set to star in and executive produce an standalone film which will “pave the way for future movies branching from Suicide Squad.” Although we don’t know the full details of his contract Leto is reported to be starring in a number of upcoming DC Films. Actor Keiynan Lonsdale (Love, Simon) has confirmed that he is to leave his role as Wally West in the Arrow-verse. The actor currently appears on both The Flash and more recently Legends of Tomorrow. Sony Picture has just dropped the second trailer for Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse. This time they’ve gone full on with the films story which sees a team up between Miles Morales and Peter Parker. We’ve now got a much better understanding about how the two will interact in the film. With Parker acting as a mentor to the younger Morales whilst they navigate the Spider-Verse. Paramount Pictures has dropped the first promotional materials for December’s Bumblebee. Today we’ve received no only the first teaser poster but also a full blown trailer. Clocking in at an impressive 2:25 minutes the trailer features plenty of footage of the titular character in action. We also get to see plenty of Hailee Steinfield as Charlie.
