Since the reveal of the first trailer Titans we haven’t heard a huge amount from the series cast. With the premiere rapidly approaching you can expect to hear more from the stars particularly via the DC Daily news show on DC Universe.
But in the latest issue of EW Robin actor Brenton Thwaites has a few words to say about a choice line from the trailer.
“We’d already shot that alley fight scene before, and there was no punch to it,”says Thwaites. “There was no real exclamation mark. I think the producers wanted something that would kind of set the tone for the whole show.”
It’s interesting to hear that line was added later. Thwaites goes on to give some context which helps put that particular line in to perspective.
“It’s a show that isn’t about Batman, and I think it’s important for people to know that and maybe not be disappointed that they’re not going to see Batman jumping from the ceiling and beating up a hundred guys, because it’s not Batman, it’s a story about the Titans, essentially. I feel like ‘F— Batman’ says that in two words.”
Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Robin, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson as Hawk and Minka Kelly as Dove. The series will debut its pilot at NYCC on October 3. It begins regular weekly episodes DC Universe from Friday, October 12.
