Netflix has released the first trailer for sci-fi series Maniac. The series stars Emma Stone and Jonah Hill and comes from the mind of Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective). Stone and Hill star as “two strangers drawn to the late stages of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial, each for their own reasons.” From the looks of this trailer the two will be going through so mind boggling scenarios whilst taking part in the trial. The latest comments from Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista have begun to cast doubt on the future of the franchise. Bautista has been vocal about his opposition to the firing of James Gunn following press coverage of tweets the director posted several years ago. Despite being released all the way back in February Black Panther is still making headlines for Marvel. The film has just become one of only three movies to ever cross $700M at the North American (domestic) box office. The film joins Disney/Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.7M) and 20th Century Fox’s Avatar ($760.5 million) in a very exclusive group of incredibly successful movies. Incredibly exciting news to come from this years Star Trek convention in Las Vegas over the weekend. Sir Patrick Stewart dropped by the convention for a chat about his time playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation and its four subsequent movies. It’s been another strong weekend at the box office for Teen Titans Go! To The Movies. The film grossed a further $4.8M at the North America box office to bring its domestic total to $20.7M. On a production budget of around $10M that puts the film squarely in the black for Warner Bros. This week also saw the Titans begin their international role out. It is estimated that over the weekend the film brought $2.4M from international markets. No news on individual territory figures as yet.
