Ralph Breaks the Internet continues to do well at the box office. The Disney sequel has now grossed over $211M worldwide proving the character has some serious box office staying power. When we went to a press screening (checkout our review here) one thing which stood out to us was how awesome the movies soundtrack is. With DCTV crossover Elseworlds set to debut on Sunday the world will finally be introduced to Ruby Rose as Batwoman. The CW and Warner Bros. TV have been clear in their intentions to spin the character off in to her own series. After an initial casting backlash (when isn’t there a backlash?) the character has been well received from images and trailers for the crossover. Brazil Comic Con is coming up very soon and will be featuring a panel from 20th Century Fox promoting the upcoming Dark Phoenix movie. Aquaman has begun it’s global roll out by opening in China on Thursday night. With all eyes on how the film performs we’re already seeing box office new coming out. The movie has opened to $1.19M in Thursday night previews. The best DC Films opening since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That film opened to $1.3M in previews in 2016. $1.19M puts Aquaman on course for a $17.5M opening day and an opening weekend around $52M. Following a huge push by Marvel and Disney Black Panther has successfully been nominated for a Golden Globe award. The film has been nominated in the category of Best Picture – Drama, composer Ludwig Göransson is also nominated for his Black Panther score. In the Best Picture category the movie will be up against BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, If Beale Street Could Talk and A Star Is Born. Warner Bros. has released a new theatrical poster for Shazam! Featuring a full look at Zachary Levi in costume the poster features a new tagline simply stating “just say the word”. Clearly a nod to the titular catchphrase of Billy Batson. Levi post on Instagram to show off the new poster.
