SWAMP THING debuts first teaser, cuts episode order

Yesterday was a big day for news on DC Universe upcoming Swamp Thing series. Firstly it appeared the show was in jeopardy when actress Virginia Madsen tweeted that production has been abruptly shut down.
In a now deleted Instagram post the actress said “I’m beyond sad. What a terrible decision. We have been cut to the core by those who have never set foot into the Swamp. And despite the rule I am going to use the hashtag. #swampthing.”
It was initially reported that Warner Bros. was considering the future of DC Universe with plenty sighting the platform at in trouble.
Warner Bros. was quick to debunk that news by announcing that “creative decisions” were behind the changes confirming the show will run for 10 episodes and not 13 as originally planned.
Later in the evening the official DC Universe social media channels shared the first teaser for the show. In doing so the streaming platform confirmed that Swamp Thing will still premiere on May 31, 2019 as planned.
Check out the teaser in the player below.
When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.
Swamp Thing will premiere on the DC Universe streaming service on May 31, 2019. The series is set to star Crystal Reed, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott, Henderson Wade and Kevin Durand.
