Despite the best efforts of internet trolls Captain Marvel has had a record breaking opening weekend at the global box office. The latest Marvel Studios release has raked in a massive $455M worldwide. Starting out in its home territory Captain Marvel took $153M across the weekend. That makes it one of the top March debuts of all time and the seventh highest opening with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Internationally the film was able to bring an a hugely impressive $302M. Back in 1982 director Wes Craven released a movie by the name of Swamp Thing. That movie starred Louis Jordan and Adrienne Barbeau. On release it was met with mixed reviews but went on to become something of a cult classic in the home video scene.
