Venom is finally coming to The Middle Kingdom! It has been announced overnight that movie will make its way to Chinese shores from November 9, 2018. The film, which was 25% financed by Chinese company Tencent, is expected to being marketing as early as today. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting the company will lead an “aggressive” digital marketing campaign that will utilise China’s popular messaging and social media service WeChat, the Tencent Video platform, the movie ticketing app Maoyan. It seems we may not have seen the last of Finn Jones as Danny Rand. Overnight EW has confirmed the star WILL return in the role across the remaining Marvel Netflix series. No news yet on when and where this will happen but the trade quotes insiders as saying Jones “will continue to appear in the Marvel universe.” We believe he is most likely to appear on the soon-to-be-confirmed third season of Luke Cage. Last night Doctor Who finally unveiled its new opening credit sequence. The credits, which anchor each episode were missing from last weeks premiere “The Girl Who Fell to Earth.” The new sequence did not disappoint. We’ve seen very little from the set of Wonder Woman 1984 following the official reveal of Pedro Pascale in costume. But now UK tabloid The Daily Mail has snapped a few pictures of Kristen Wiig on the set. Back in the costume from her official reveal photos Wiig appears to be fighting off an attacker in the scenes being filmed. Given the look of fear on her face these scenes most likely take place before Barbara Minerva transforms in to Cheetah. In its second weekend frame Venom has continued to take a serious bite out of the competition. The movie remains the number one movie in the world despite predictions that it would fall hard. Expectations going in to the weekend put the film at adding a further $30M in North America. Those estimates expected the film to fall around 65-70% from its opening weekend. In fact the film fell much less (approx. 55%) and grossed a further $35.7M. That takes its North American total up to $142.8M. DC Comics has used their new DC Universe streaming service to officially announce that James Gunn is on board for Suicide Squad 2. On Thursday’s DC Daily host Tiffany Smith broke the news by welcoming Gunn to the DC family.
