Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is heading towards a huge $40M+ opening weekend at the domestic box office. In surpassing all expectations the movie (reviewed by us here!) is already fair game for a sequel. Warner Bros. and DC Films Aquaman is coming to the end of its second weekend in international cinemas. News is beginning to trickle in that the characters first solo movie is continuing to prove profitable at the box office. In second weekend news the movie is holding well in China and expected to make a further $50M+ by the end of Sunday. It has been a while since we had any solid news on a follow-up to 2016’s Doctor Strange. Now a new rumour from THR points to work on the sequel finally being underway. According to the report director Scott Derrickson has inked a deal to return to Marvel Studios. Whilst a writer is currently being sought to work on the script it’s being planned that the film will enter production in 2020.
