It has been a while since we had any solid news on a follow-up to 2016’s Doctor Strange. Now a new rumour from THR points to work on the sequel finally being underway. According to the report director Scott Derrickson has inked a deal to return to Marvel Studios. Whilst a writer is currently being sought to work on the script it’s being planned that the film will enter production in 2020. Deadline has a huge casting update for Warner Bros. and DC Films Birds of Prey for us. Amongst others Damages and Argo star Chris Messina has joined the movie in the role of Victor Zsasz. Zsasz is famed in the comics for marking his body with a scar for each kill in his career. No news yet on how Zsasz will figure in to the story but it’s a safe bet he’ll be working with Ewan McGreggor’s Black Mask! We’ve previously heard rumours that The CW was investigating launching a Superman TV series. There’s no denying the popularity of Tyler Hoechlin in the role which has just seen him reappear for the Elseworlds crossover. In a new interview with TV Line actress Elizabeth Tulloch has touched on whether the pair would return for a series. “Potentially, and it was something I sort of talked to one of the producers about,” she responded when asked about a Superman spinoff. “I think it’ll depend on how this is reviewed and a bunch of other external factors that nobody has really that much control over.””I…

Last night the Elseworlds crossover event drew to a dramatic close on The CW. With the universe resent to (almost) exactly how it should be it’s time to turn our eyes to 2019. In a first for the network Elseworlds ended with a huge tease and logo reveal for 2019’s crossover. We’re only three weeks away from the premiere of the final season of Gotham. Following the recently released behind-the-scenes featurette, TV Line has treated us to this gallery of character portraits. Most interestingly we get a first look at Bane (Shane West) without his trademark mast. There’s also a great new look at Cameron Monaghan in some very Joker-esque garb. Last night we were privileged to attend a Warner Bros. screening on Aquaman and prior to the movie we were treated to the latest trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
