During last weekend’s blockbuster Xbox Games Showcase 2026, publisher KOEI TECMO Europe and acclaimed developer Team NINJA officially pulled back the curtain on the next entry in their dark fantasy Three Kingdoms saga: Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember.
The game’s epic announcement trailer offered a brutal first glimpse of the new threats awaiting players in this highly anticipated follow up. Striking while the iron is hot, Team NINJA confirmed that the title is currently in active development and is targeting an early 2027 release window.
When it drops, it will land on almost every major platform, including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox PC, and Steam. In a major win for subscription holders, the title will also launch Day One on Xbox Game Pass.
As rival warlords contend for absolute supremacy and the iconic heroes of the Three Kingdoms begin to emerge, a new phoenix rises from the embers of war. Players will step into the boots of a brand-new nameless champion, cutting a path through vast, ash-choked battlefields that have been completely overrun by both powerful rival armies and grotesque, fearsome fiends.
To survive the onslaught, Team NINJA promises that players will need to master a deeply evolved system of authentic Chinese martial arts. This refined combat engine will be put to the ultimate test as you fight side-by-side with legendary, history-defining generals to purge the land of its monstrous demonic corruption.
To help celebrate the announcement of Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, the previous title, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, is once again available on XBOX Game Pass for fans to start their journey.
