To celebrate the release of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, we sat down with some of the cast and crew to discuss all things Avatar– as a superfan, I was in my element. Our final chat was with composer Simon Franglen who worked very closely with James Horner on various projects and then composed the musice for both The Way of Water and Fire and Ash.
Simon Franglen’s score is an absolute wonder, not only does he honour what Horner established in 2009, but Franglen adds his own style that shakes things up vigorously, especially when it comes to the arrival of the Mangkwan tribe and their leader Varang. The full soundtrack is available to stream now and a vinyl is heading to stores in January, 2026.
