MCM Comic Con organisers ReedPop have today announced renowned high fantasy author Brandon Sanderson as the first guest at MCM London Comic Con next year, taking place 22-24 May 2026.
With this year’s MCM Comic Con events wrapped up following another the biggest ever Birmingham show at the NEC, ReedPop are turning their attention to next year’s run of shows, with fan-favourite fantasy author Brandon Sanderson the first guest to be revealed.
Brandon Sanderson is best known as the author behind the highly-acclaimed Cosmere fictional universe, in which most of his fantasy novels, including The Stormlight Archive, Tress of the Emerald Sea and Mistborn, are set. His next short fiction collection, Tailored Realities, will also be published this December.
Sanderson is one of the 21st century’s most prolific contemporary high fantasy authors, having written over 70 books and sold over 45 million copies worldwide. Recently, he was chosen to complete Robert Jordan’s legendary The Wheel of Time series, which was adapted for the screen by Amazon Prime Video. He has also been credited for popularising the idea of ‘hard magic’ and ‘soft magic’ systems, in the Sanderson’s Laws of Magic.
In addition to writing, Sanderson and his wife Emily Sanderson founded the charitable organisation, The Lightweaver Foundation, with a mission to “Feed bodies. Fill minds. Fuel hope.” The Lightweaver Foundation is responsible for helping university students publish their speculative fiction in journals, in addition to raising money to support people and programs within their local community.
Brandon Sanderson will be available for book signings across all three days of MCM Comic Con in May, with merchandise available at his stand. He will also on a panel delving into his career and writing process, with more information to come in the new year.
