Dark Horse Comics and Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast division present Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories—Jace, a new series featuring the Planeswalker and mind mage, Jace Beleren. The four-issue miniseries will be written by Eisner Award-winning author Michael W. Conrad (Plague House, Neptune), illustrated by Caitlin Yarsky (Black Hammer: Reborn, Living Hell), colored by Alex Guimarães (Adventures of Superman: Book of El, Storm), and lettered by Clayton Cowles (Helen of Wyndhorn, FML). Issue #1 arrives in February 2026 and will feature covers by Yarsky, Francesco Francavilla, and Aleksi Briclot.
Jace Beleren is the most talented mind mage in the Multiverse. A master of telepathy, illusion, and memory distortion, Jace’s heroic feats are tainted by a duplicitous past that threatens to unravel him at any given moment.

“Jace is the kind of character that has haunted me for years, he’s that good looking guy that makes me throw my cards in the bin and extend my hand begrudgingly to the dreaded blue player who just ended my game,” said Conrad. “Beyond that the lore surrounding him has captured my imagination, and has refused to let go. I identify with Jace in that I don’t entirely trust my own memories and perceptions of the world, this has made approaching an at times aggravating character a bit therapeutic. I mean, if Jace can cope with having his mind messed with by everything from an ancient sphinx to someone he once deeply admired, surely I can unpack some of my own, far more pedestrian trauma… In this way it has been a cathartic experience to spend time in his troubled mind.”
