Sony Pictures is taking us behind-the-scenes on Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later today with two brand new featurettes. The studio has also confirmed the film’s UK release is moving up by a day with the film now releasing on June 19, 2025.
In the first of the two short pieces, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson discusses working with the legendary Danny Boyle. The video features plenty of shots from the film alongside Johnson’s commentary on working with the co-creator of the franchise. In the second video Boyle’s co-creator, Alex Garland, discusses the subversion of the genre the two have used to make the 28 Years franchise a hit with zombie-horror fans.
You can watch both featurettes below:
It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.
Written by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Civil War) and directed by Danny Boyle (28 Days Later), the new film stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes.
28 Years Later will be released in UK cinemas on June 19, 2025 by Sony Pictures.
