BOOM! Studios has revealed our first look at one of 2025’s most hotly anticipated new series, Book of Cutter. The epic conclusion to Maxine Slaughter’s transformation from White Mask to Black Mask begins in Book of Cutter #1, by writer James Tynion IV, artists Werther Dell’Edera, Antonio Fuso, and Letizia Cadonici, colorist Miquel Muerto, and letterer AndWorld Design, when it hits shelves January 2025.
As it crosses its 5th anniversary, the Slaughterverse unveils one of its darkest chapters yet in this oversized one-shot exploring a brand new facet to the mythos of monsters… and the ones who hunt them. Maxine Slaughter, a former pack hunter who renounced her White Mask to take up the Black for the Order of St. George, journeys to Europe to seek out the House of Cutter and their mysterious ways. The Eisner Award-winning team of iconic writer James Tynion IV, legendary artist Werther Dell’Edera, and acclaimed colorist Miquel Muerto close out 5 years of nightmares with this pivotal entry in the blockbuster horror saga.
The series’ debut issue features main covers by Dan Mora (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and series co-creator Werther Dell’Edera, and variant covers by Khary Randolph (Sirens of the City) and Christian Ward (Invisible Kingdom).
BOOM! has also revealed five, unlettered, preview pages from issue #1 highlighting the artwork of Werther Dell’Edera with colours by Miquel Muerto. You can take a look at each of those pages below:
