Dark Horse Comics is giving the gift of stunning artwork this holiday season. The publisher has recently released the third volume of Daniel Freedman’s popular dark fantasy graphic novel series, Birdking and today we’re taking an exclusive look at a new excerpt.
The series, illustrated by popular artist CROM, follows Bianca, an apprentice to an infamous arcane blacksmith, as she flees her homeland to seek out Atlas, a land of light. On her journey, she’s joined by a mysterious guardian spirit known as Birdking.
In Volume 3 nothing has gone right. With Birdking out of commission and most of her friends lost, Bianca finally reaches the golden city of Atlas. But when she finds herself too eager to pay her debt to the All Father, she threatens to lose the only thing she has left; herself.
