Vertigo Releasing has excited to announce the release of Stockholm Bloodbath, the action-adventure from Mikael Håfström (Slingshot) starring Claes Bang (The Northman), Emily Beecham (Little Joe), Sophie Cookson (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Alba August (Blackwater), and Adam Pålsson (Young Wallander).
An untraditional retelling of an infamous Scandinavian massacre, the film follows two sisters, Anne (Cookson) and Freja (August), seeking revenge for their family’s murder. Against all odds, they find themselves in Stockholm where they are drawn into a political power struggle between Danish King Christian II (Bang) and Swedish rebels led by Sten Sture (Pålsson) that ultimately ends in bloodbath.

The film was released across Scandinavia in early 2024, before hitting North America in November via Brainstorm Media and Sunrise Films, Vertigo Releasing’s international label. Vertigo is planning to release the title across all major digital platforms in the UK & Ireland on 6th January 2025.
