Sony Pictures has this morning debuted the first poster artwork Danny Boyle’s the much anticipated 28 Years Later. The film, which arrives 22 years after Boyle first petrified audiences with the genre-defining 28 Days Later. The new film, reportedly the first in a trilogy, will debut in UK cinemas in June 2025.
Very little is known about about the new film which finds Boyle reuniting with Alex Garland, writer of the original film and this year’s incredible Civil War. The film will star Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter) and Ralph Fiennes (Conclave) but will also reportedly mark the return of Cillian Murphy to the role of Jim from the first film.
The poster itself is giving nothing away. With echoes of the biohazard symbol which has become a staple of the 28… franchise name being made up on skulls this time around it certainly doesn’t seem like life has quite returned to normal in the years following the outbreak…
28 Years Later will be released in UK cinemas on June 20, 2025 by Sony Pictures.
