The release of the first trailer for Riot Games and studio Fortiche’s second season of Arcane came with some really great news, and some… not so great news. Let’s start with the positives. The trailer delivered in every way imaginable, teasing the heightened stakes, clashes, and obstacles heading to Piltover and Zaun. They’ve got to deal with Jinx, shimmer, and the remnants of Silco’s empire. Of course, that’s not all… There’s also Viktor and the arrival of a new champion that could change everything. The trailer has gotten everyone excited for Arcane‘s return. Unfortunately, this will be the last season of Arcane.
“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche,” said co-creator Christian Linke. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But ‘Arcane’ is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”
So, while this second season will be the last to feature Jinx and Vi, there will be more stories set within the realm of League of Legends. The best thing we can do right now is just hope that season two provides a satisfying conclusion to all of the different character arcs. However, purely based on the first season of Arcane… We’re not at all worried.
Arcane Season Two will be released on Netflix in November, 2024.
