Since making his professional writing debut in 2012, James Tynion IV has carved out a remarkable career path quickly rising to one of the commercially successful and lauded authors in the entire industry. Available to pre-order now, BOOM! Studios proudly celebrates his 10th anniversary publishing at the premier L.A. based publisher with James Tynion IV: The First Decade at BOOM! Studios, presenting a curated collection of some of his most celebrated creations–The Woods, Memetic: The Apocalyptic Trilogy, and Something is Killing the Children.

The campaign features limited edition anniversary comic books, premium hardcover and slipcased collected editions, exclusive collectibles including an exclusive commemorative print by Nick Robles. The BOOM! Direct Reserve exclusive comic books and hardcovers each feature brand new, exclusive by the title’s respective artist and co-creator–Michael Dialynas, Eryk Donovan, and Werther Dell’Edera. And announced through the campaign, for the first time,– The Art of Something is Killing the Children, a visual celebration of the first five years of the series presented in BOOM! Direct Reserve exclusive hardcover and slipcased editions! Fans can head to the James Tynion IV: The First Decade at BOOM! Studios BOOM! DIRECT RESERVE CAMPAIGN to get their first look at the interiors of The Art of Something is Killing the Children with rare sketches and a collection of pages, covers, and commentary, curated by Tynion & Dell’Edera.

In addition to offering fans their first chance to secure a copy of The Art of Something is Killing the Children, fans who reserve any physical tier during the first 48 hours of the campaign will automatically receive the Something Is Killing The Children #1 Scriptbook, an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the most successful modern comic book franchise with a bespoke reproduction of James Tynion IV’s original script. Additional limited edition collectibles, comics, and even a top secret Something Is Killing The Children announcement will be revealed and unlocked through the campaign’s Stretch Goals.

“It’s hard to believe it’s already been 10 years since the debut of The Woods and Memetic (and 5 years since the debut of Something is Killing the Children!),” said celebrated, award winning-author James Tynion IV. “The projects are all incredibly personal to Michael, Eryk, Werther, and I, and were foundational to me becoming the writer I am today. I’m thrilled to celebrate their anniversaries with brand new deluxe editions, and to hopefully see a whole new generation experience these stories for the first time.”

“James’ meteoric rise as one of the industry’s top creative voices has been incredible to watch and we are honored to have such a meaningful part of his library at BOOM! Studios,” said Filip Sablik, President of Publishing and Marketing. “This campaign is a celebration of his achievements as a writer and a way for both new and long-time fans to collect and own the formative stories that defined his first decade in the most deluxe formats possible. Here’s to another ten years with James!”

The campaign will run for 30 days until June 13, 2024.
