Time to check out this week’s UK Official Film Chart as Warner Bros. Pictures’ One Life rises up from fourth place to take the top spot.
Starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, One Life is based on the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 predominantly Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia.
The film lifts three places week-on-week, holding off former chart-topper Wonka for another week (2) and denying Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (3) a fifth week at Number 1.
Just behind is chart mainstay Oppenheimer, which jumps five to Number 4, while Barbie holds strong at Number 5 for another week. Award-winning comedy drama The Holdovers, starring Paul Giamatti, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Dominic Sessa, enters the Top 10 for the very first time at Number 6, finishing ahead of Meg 2: The Trench at 7.
Our highest new entry this week is Wicked Little Letters, a comedy drama starring Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley, which lands straight in at Number 8. Rounding out this week’s Top 10 is The Equalizer 3 (9) which drops three places, and 2008 Dreamworks favourite Kung Fu Panda (10).
