    Synopsis

Things are desperate as the Dark Specter steps up an attack, with Rangers from different universes and civilians alike teaming up to keep the carnage at bay, but some special objects may be the key to keeping the planet safe… even if it won’t last for long.

As Billy, Dr. Kendall Morgan, and the Phantom Ranger rush to repair the Master Arch, they’re only able to pull a single ally from the heart of the Morphin Grid as Dark Specter’s power grows…

    Review

We are in the midst of the Darkest Hour with Dark Spectre closing his grip on the Morphin Grid and it’s effects being felt throughout the whole multiverse in what seems to be a winless war for the Power Rangers, but the seed of hope is beginning to grow.

The cracks are beginning to show in Dark Spectre’s plan and his frustrations are there to see as he begins to push the blame to Mistress Vile, as much as she protests her innocence the finger is pointed firmly in her direction and you can see the evil cogs in her head begin to turn, deep down inside is there a plan that is festering below?

Meanwhile back at base the Rangers are looking at the Power Eggs and studying their powers, an idea to split them is put forward but the implementation could be dangerous but the power within could be enough to forge an alternative Morphin Grid that can’t be reached by Dark Spectre which would potentially give them the platform needed to mount an attack on Dark Spectre in a move that at one point may have never seemed possible, could the balance of power be about to swing? It could well be that is unless someone else doesn’t have other plans.

The writing from Melissa Flores is purely captivating, the unique balance of a meaningful storyline combined with furious action that has created a comic close to perfection. The comic literally has you sitting on the edge of your seat and routing for the age old good conquers all story to come true, with cliffhanger endings that will leave you exasperated you just won’t be able to put this series down.

Simona Di Gianfelice and Marco Renna have captivated the reader’s imagination with stunning illustrations that take the story to elite levels. The depiction of Dark Spectre and the darkness that looks around him will chill your spine and the action scenes are hypnotic.

We are always in the pursuit of perfection and in terms of comics this is definitely close.

    Verdict

Another 5⭐ production from the creative team, the Darkest Hour is definitely an event that needs to be witnessed. If this is the benchmark for the rest of the year then other comic creatives will definitely have a tough job to reach these heights.
