Time for some cool casting news. Ahead of the start of production on season 2, The Last of Us has added the legendary Catherine O’Hara in an undisclosed role.
The HBO and Sky series is currently gearing up for camera to roll in Vancouver. As noted in Deadline’s story on O’Hara joining the cast, a significant part of the story in The Last of Us Part II video game is set in the Pacific Northwest.
At the time of writing the studio is unwilling to confirm what role O’Hara will take nothing only that she will take on a guest starring status in an “undisclosed role.”
The cast already includes Pedro Pascal as Joel and rising British star Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Anna Torv as Tess and British actress Nico Parker as Sarah. Murray Bartlett as Frank, Nick Offerman as Bill, Storm Reid as Riley and Merle Dandridge as Marlene. Jeffrey Pierce as Perry, Lamar Johnson as Henry, Keivonn Woodard as Sam, Graham Greene as Marlon, Elaine Miles as Florence, and Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker- who both appear in the new trailer.
The Last of Us is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and is executive produced by Carolyn Strauss, Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Rose Lam.
