Back in November a fansite dedicated to The Witcher actress Anya Chalotra climbed she would be joining the cast of DC Studios Creature Commandos. Cut to January and now the news has been confirmed by showrunner and studio head James Gunn.
Chalotra has played the role of Yennefer of Veneberg in the Netflix fantasy hit for three seasons, with season four coming later in 2024. Now the actress will be swapping one witch for another as she takes on the role of Wonder Woman villain Circe.
Circe was first introduced back in 1949 in the pages of Wonder Woman #37 and was created by writer Robert Kanigher and artist Harry G. Peter. Like her namesake in Greek mythology, Circe a penchant for turning human beings into animals alongside her immortality and powerful command over sorcery.
Gunn confirmed the casting whilst replying to fan on Threads over the weekend:

Gunn has previously stated that actors will portray their roles in both animated and live-action projects. So could we see Chalotra turn up as a live action Circe down the line?
In the 7 episodes series Sean Gunn will voice Weasel, Grillo is Rick Flag Sr., Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Varma is The Bride, Chao is Nina Mazursky, Tudyk is Dr. Phosphorus, Harbour is Eric Frankenstein and Agee is John Economos.
No premiere date has been set for Creature Commandos as yet. But we expect the series to drop later in 2024.
