2024 is set to be a transformative year for the Star Trek brand. Aside from those potential Paramount merger talks with Warner Bros. there’s also the impending ending of the first series in the franchise’s recent resurgence, Star Trek: Discovery.
The series fifth and final season was recently confirmed to premiere in April 2024. Though no specific premiere date has been confirmed we now news on each of the final ten episodes’ writers and potential titles. The news comes from a listing on the Writer’s Guild website (first spotted by TrekMovie.com). For now we’d squarely label these titles as subject to change but they certainly offer an insight in to what is to come:
- Episode 1: “Red Directive” (Michelle Paradise)
- Episode 2: “Under the Twin Moons” (Alan McElroy)
- Episode 3: “Jinaal” (Kyle Jarrow & Lauren Wilkinson)
- Episode 4: “Face the Strange” (Sean Cochran)
- Episode 5: “Mirrors” (Johanna Lee & Carlos Cisco)
- Episode 6: “Whistlespeak” (Kenneth Lin & Brandon A. Schultz)
- Episode 7 “Erigah” (M. Raven Metzner)
- Episode 8: “Labyrinths” (Lauren Wilkinson & Eric J. Robbins)
- Episode 9: “Lagrange Point” (Sean Cochran & Ari Friedman)
- Episode 10: “Life, Itself” (Kyle Jarrow & Michelle Paradise)
As is usually the case, Discovery showrunner Michelle Paradise has a writer credit on the season premiere and will co-writer the series’ finale with Kyle Jarrow.

Cast members in season 5 include Sonequa Martin-Green (Captain Michael Burnham), Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Blu del Barrio (Adira) and Callum Keith Rennie (Rayner). Season five also features recurring guest stars’ Elias Toufexis (L’ak) and Eve Harlow (Moll).
The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Michelle Paradise, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers. Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise serve as co-showrunners.
Star Trek: Discovery seasons one through four are currently streaming exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., the U.K., Switzerland, South Korea, Latin America, Germany, France, Italy, Australia and Austria. Seasons two and three are also available on the Pluto TV “Star Trek” channel in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. In Canada, it airs on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel.
