The countdown has started. Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Rebel Moon is coming to Netflix this Christmas and in 2024. Part One – A Child Of Fire will be airing on December 22nd, with Part Two arriving on April 19th. That’s not why we’re here though. Netflix’s Geeked Week is officially here, and Snyder has a few surprises in store for us. Starting with a trailer.
That’s right, a brand new Rebel Moon trailer will be coming this weekend. On Sunday 12th, Snyder will drop his trailer during America’s Game of the Week event on FOX, before heading over to Geeked Week for more. What does he have planned?
A new trailer of course means more footage. While the first teaser trailer delivered in terms of scale and spectacle, this main trailer could focus on the Seven Samurai-esque narrative. With more footage, we’ll be able to experience more of Snyder’s sandbox universe. While we patiently wait for Rebel Moon‘s arrival in… 45 days, a brand new trailer is the perfect way to not only get fans more excited (if that’s possible), but to also entice new audiences. This release feels like an event, and we hope it gets received and treated as one.
Now, just as a quick reminder… Rebel Moon will comprise of two films. Each film will drop on Netflix (with theatrical releases being rumored), then they’ll receive their very own director’s cut at a later date. According to Producer Deborah Snyder, the alternative cuts will be “45 minutes to an hour longer”, and will be a lot more brutal and graphic. Not that we needed convincing, but count us in.

Synopsis:
After crash landing on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a stranger with a mysterious past, begins a new life among a peaceful settlement of farmers. But she soon becomes their only hope for survival when the tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee) and his cruel emissary, Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein), discover the farmers have unwittingly sold their crops to the Bloodaxes (Cleopatra Coleman and Ray Fisher) – leaders of a fierce group of insurgents hunted by the Motherworld.
Tasked with finding fighters who would risk their lives to defend the people of Veldt, Kora and Gunnar (Michiel Huisman), a tenderhearted farmer naive in the realities of war, journey to different worlds in search of the Bloodaxes, and assemble a small band of warriors who share a common need for redemption along the way: Kai (Charlie Hunnam), a pilot and gun for hire; General Titus (Djimon Hounsou), a legendary commander; Nemesis (Bae Doona), a master swordswoman; Tarak (Staz Nair), a captive with a regal past; and Milius (E. Duffy), a resistance fighter. Back on Veldt, Jimmy (voiced by Anthony Hopkins), an ancient mechanized protector hiding in the wings, awakens with a new purpose. But the newly formed revolutionaries must learn to trust each other and fight as one before the armies of the Motherworld come to destroy them all.
