There are monsters everywhere… Apple TV+ unveiled a brand new poster for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The new poster features the main cast from both time periods, as well as Godzilla himself who is at the centre of Monarch. The cinematic and captivating series will make its global debut with the first two episodes on Friday, November 17th, followed by one episode every Friday through January 12th, 2024.
The upcoming ten-episode Apple TV+ sci-fi drama is based on Legendary’s MonsterVerse, taking place after the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that levelled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real.
Offical Synopsis:
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.
The ensemble cast includes Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell (who play the same character decades apart), Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski. The cinematic scale of the series – combined with in-depth storytelling and characters – will have broad appeal not only to the core Godzilla fan but those who aren’t as familiar with the MonsterVerse.
The series is co-developed by Chris Black (Star Trek: Enterprise) and Matt Fraction (Hawkeye). Matt Shakman (Wandavision) directs the first two episodes.
