It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time to check out this week’s UK Official Film Chart as Warner Bros. Barbie continues its reign with a third week at Number 1.
Margot Robbie’s portrayal of the iconic doll refuses to be unseated from the pinnacle of the chart, despite pressure from Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny which holds on once more at Number 2.
Our highest new entry of the week is DC Studios’ Blue Beetle, which flies straight in at Number 3 on digital downloads only. An alien scarab chooses Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) to be its host, changing his destiny forever as he becomes the superhero known as Blue Beetle.
Another DC production The Flash falls one (4) while Fast X holds strong on its placing from last week (5). Former chart-topper The Super Mario Bros. Movie lifts one (6) and Meg 2: The Trench slips three (7).
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse lands at Number 8 this week, closely followed by the whimsical Wes Anderson-directed Asteroid City, starring Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks which leaps ten places to Number 9.
Rounding out the Top 10 is classic 1973 horror The Wicker Man, which makes its film chart debut at Number 10 following the release of a special 50th-anniversary collector’s edition.
