Review
In this final issue the preparations are taking place to prepare Amara for her toughest test yet, the time in the spotlight that Amara has craved is nearly her it’s time for her to step up and prove herself worthy of the Creed name, she has said all along that she is ready but is she really ready?
Jaime Pierce is a tough champion and a formidable opponent this is the match that everyone wanted but first they must make their way through the preliminary rounds which in themselves are tough but poth possible paths could see the two meet in the final.
Amara has the fight in her to achieve her destiny, but at what cost? The fight isn’t just in the ring as family feuds threaten to spill out into the corporate world in what could very well change the corporate landscape forever.
I’ve enjoyed this series alot more than I first thought I would, I was worried that the story would just be a tie on to the famous name however the story gave me more than that and actually opened up the Creed story line giving alot more depth to the characters that we have become familiar with. The writing combination of LaToya Morgan and Jai Jameson works well together creating a story that fans of the Rocky/Creed films will enjoy but also new readers will be able to discover this story then go back and see the films and go deeper into the family history and what drives the family name forward.
To go with the intensity of the story you need an illustrator that brings the same energy to the table and Wilton Santos does exactly that, the energy of each panel kind of explodes on each page as dramatic tones are partnered with intense colours to give a visual experience that gets your heart racing.
Overall I thought that this series was a perfect continuation of the Creed story and feel like the way it was left gives it the perfect opportunity to bring more to the table, which I definitely hope will happen.
Verdict
An intense story of hope and drive paired with an explosive family feud overall brings a well balanced reading experience that fans of the long running series will enjoy.
