BOOM! Studios has dropped our first look at Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111, the beginning of the upcoming Darkest Hour event, taking place after the bold and greatly anticipated Reunited, Recharged era of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with a superstar creative lineup of writer Melissa Flores (Power Rangers, The Dead Lucky), artist Simona Di Gianfelice (Firefly), colorist Raúl Angulo (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and letterer Ed Dukeshire (The Woods, Irredeemable) in the kickoff of this monumental 12-month event, available in August 2023.
Mistress Vile has won, or so it seems, with control of the Grid and Dark Specter’s infections spreading through the universe! The Rangers are presented with the impossible choice of saving either their friend or the universe against Dark Specter and find themselves separated and stranded until they receive help from the last team they’d expect, but not be the help they were hoping for.
In the tradition of Shattered Grid and perfectly timed with the 30th anniversary of Power Rangers, writer Melissa Flores and Simona Di Gianfelice kick off the event they’ve been building toward for the last year that will forever change the Power Rangers universe.
Fans wouldn’t be caught dead missing out on the debut of Björn Barends’ Dark Grid Variant Covers–the most twisted threats the Rangers have ever seen brought to life.
This month’s issue features main cover art by star artist Taurin Clarke (Miles Morales: Spider-Man) and variant covers by acclaimed illustrators Björn Barends (Spawn), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Keyla Valerio (Power Rangers Unlimited), Ariel Olivetti (BRZRKR), and Tyler Kirkham (Invincible).
Here’s your first look at the huge cover gallery:
