Review
In this issue we witness the explosive fallout from the previous issue as Joker leaves his explosive stamp on the City of Angels and puts his plan in place to leave the glitz and glamour and go back to Gotham and settle business back home. But he quickly finds out that going back isn’t going to be as straight forward as he hoped as a certain Manhunter has made it her personal mission to make sure Joker doesn’t get out of Los Angeles wanting to make sure he pays for his actions, not quite the free ride Joker thought he was going to get. As the book reaches it’s climax we see that what we have seen may not have been what we originally thought.
I’ve really enjoyed this Joker series, Joker stories are normally a dark affair but this particular story arc seems to have a rawness to it’s darkness Matthew Rosenberg expertly writes a story that takes the reader on a wild journey that will keep you on the edge of your seat with it’s relentless action and twisting storyline.
Carmine Di Giandomenico and Francesco Mattina bring a unique combination to the illustrations that provides the visual enhancement to the story that elevates it to a different level, you see the raw energy on every page and you can literally feel each explosion as it comes your way. I love the detail in each panel taking a Joker story and making it a whole lot darker.
Verdict
It’s Joker but darker and if I could say more twisted (if that’s possible) As the story unfolds the twists will leave you gobsmacked, this story has me gripped and I can’t wait for what’s to come.
