After making waves on the big screen in Jordan Peele’s Nope, former The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun is returning to TV with a new dark comedy series at Netflix. Co-starring Ali Wong, Beef is a ten-part production from A24 and launches globally on April 6.
Described as a new edgy, smart, revenge fable, from Lee Sung Jin and A24, the high-stakes and propulsive tale provides a unique and darkly comedic character study following two deeply unsatisfied people who are looking for connection without knowing that’s what they need.
The series follows the aftermath of a road rage incident between two strangers. Danny Cho (Yeun), a failing contractor with a chip on his shoulder, goes head-to-head with Amy Lau (Wong), a self-made entrepreneur with a picturesque life. The increasing stakes of their feud unravel their lives and relationships in this darkly comedic and deeply moving series.
