Later this year the brilliant The Lazarus Project will return to Sky in the UK with brand new episodes. After an apocalyptic cliffhanger to season one, the second season will find the secret government agency fighting to break themselves out of a destructive time loop.
It’s now been confirmed that a number of new faces will join the returning Paapa Essiedu, Anjli Mohindra, Charly Clive, Rudi Dharmalingam, Caroline Quentin and Tom Burke in season 2.
Colin Salmon (Resident Evil, Limitless), Royce Pierreson (The Irregulars, The Witcher), Safia Oakley-Green (Sherwood), Lorne MacFayden (Vigil), Zoe Telford (Genius), Sam Troughton and James Atherton (Hollyoaks) have all been added to the cast.
A brief synopsis for season 2 teases a high stakes fight to save the future:
When George and the team find themselves stuck in a loop in which the world ends every three weeks, they will have to find a solution before Earth implodes for the final time and wipes out humanity forever.
The Lazarus Project is directed by Marco Kreuzpaintner, internationally acclaimed director of Amazon Prime series Beat. The series was commissioned by Gabriel Silver, Director of Commissioning for Drama at Sky Studios for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content at Sky UK. The series is executive produced by Joe Barton, Paul Gilbert for Sky Studios, and Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy for Urban Myth Films. Urban Myth Films is producing in association with Sky Studios.
