The excitement was short lived Cavill fans. After only recently confirming his full time return to the role of Superman, Henry Cavill has released a new statement confirming he will NOT be returning to the role he began with 2013’s Man of Steel.
After making a surprise return to cameo in the end credits of Black Adam, it was understood that Warner Bros. Pictures was looking to develop a new Man of Steel sequel featuring Cavill. Those plans have come to an abrupt halt with the change in leadership and the formation of a new DC Studio brand at WB.

It is understood that new DC Studios co-chairs James Gunn and Peter Safran are pitching their final slate to WBD executives this week with a view to announcing their slate early in the new year.
