So, what is The Acolyte? Well, check out the brief synopsis via Starwars.com:
“The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”
The High Republic saw the Jedi Order at its prime, centuries prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Now, if you’re new to this era Star Wars have set up a nice little hub so that you can learn more about the era of the High Republic. However, if you love Star Wars as much as we do, then we highly recommend reading the books of The High Republic.
From creator, showrunner, and executive producer Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), The Acolyte has begun production in the U.K. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing. Headland will also direct the series pilot.
The Acolyte will be coming to Disney+ very soon. With the show entering production we’re certain that we’ll be gifted with more exciting news in the coming weeks. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled because The Acolyte is going to be something truly special.
