If you haven’t yet dived in to Kenny Porter’s brilliant DC: Mech series, then now is the time to start. This week, DC Comics will release the third issue of the six-part series which reimagines the World’s Finest Heroes as pilots in giant mechanised fighting robots.
In case you’ve missed out on all the fun so far, here’s a look at the series’ trailer:
The official synopsis for book three teases the battle ahead as Darkseid’s arm reaches Earth:
A battle for the stars! Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and the Green Lanterns have combined their might and mechanized resources to help the world, but they’re not a team quite yet. They’re a group of pilots not flying in a pattern. This will have to change when they go to aid Steve Trevor’s forces in space as they’re attacked by Darkseid’s Apokolpitean Army. And on Earth, Lex Luthor’s experiments with Superman’s DNA grow more frightening. The most epic miniseries of 2022 continues!
Joining Kenny Porter on the DC: Mech creative team is artist Baldemar Rivas who also provides the main cover art (below). There will also be a variant cover from superstar artist Dan Mora and a further cover from Ricard Lopez Ortiz.
Dc has kindly given us a handful of preview pages from the issue which you can check out below in readiness for the book’s release on Tuesday.
DC: Mech #3 comes to comic book stores and digital platforms from September 27, 2022.
