Review
As part of the Batman Day celebrations we saw DC re-release one of the most popular comic series in the DC world, Batman Hush sees our hero go up against his most formidable foes to once again clean up Gotham City of it’s grimy dark side. Batman must dig deep inside as he goes up against an evolved Killer Croc to save one of Gotham’s elite Edward Lamont IV heir to the Lamont Chemical empire, Batman’s main objective is get Edward and bring him back to safety but this is no ordinary foe to go up against. Going up against Croc isn’t Batman’s only concern other factors are coming into play the introduction of Catwoman causes confusion and gives Batman another headache to deal with, this definitely isn’t an ordinary kidnap rescue this is going to take Batman digging deep into his soul to find the fight. A surprising twist in tale for Batman and a worry for him going forward, the foundations have been laid for a game changer of series that may well change the DC Universe as we know it.
Jeph Loeb has done a great job in creating this series telling a well love story and adding his own twist and creating a story that is action packed and full of twists and turns allowing the reader to immerse themselves into the story.
An iconic character deserves illustrations to match and that’s the level that Jim Lee and Scott Williams have achieved with the illustrations in this book, each panel is intricately detailed with the usual dark action that fans of DC are used to and this adds to the overall reading experience that is just as good today as it was on the original release.
Verdict
A story well worth a re-release bringing it to a whole new audience, action packed and thrilling on every page. An elite level release by a highly talented creative team well worth a read and highly recommend adding to your collection.
