The short film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in this year’s Semaine de la Critique stars Sim as the main guest of a talk-show which slides into a surreal journey of love, blood and homage to some of Sim’s favourite horror films.
This star-studded glam horror features appearances from a variety of queer icons, including singer-songwriter Jimmy Sommerville as The Guardian Angel, drag queen Bimini as The Queen of Doom, as well as Jamie xx, long-time collaborator of Sim and producer of the album.
In addition, Hideous will have its UK premiere at The ICA on 6 September. Both Oliver Sim and Yann Gonzalez will be in attendance at the screening, tickets here.
Oliver Sim has said on the upcoming release: “Hideous is the queer horror film of my dreams. Thank you to my friend, collaborator & director Mr Yann Gonzalez for bringing the music to life visually with so much heart, humour and beauty. I can’t wait to welcome you all to the world we’ve created.”
Hideous will be available exclusively on MUBI from September 8, 2022 and Hideous Bastard is released September 9 via Young.
